The Wastewater Division is responsible for the Sewer Collection System, maintenance, treatment plant maintenance and operation.
The new extended air activated sludge treatment plant opened in October of 2018. The average daily flow is approximately 1,000,000 gallons per day. The treatment facility has a design peak capacity of 5,300,000 gallons per day.
The sewer system contains 4 pump stations and roughly 62 miles of sanitary sewer mains to get sewage to this facility. Sanitary sewer service is provided to residents and is financed by user fees determined by customers wastewater volume of discharge and includes a customer service charge. Industrial user fees are based on volume of wastewater discharged, and the strength of the discharged waste.
