Project Access York Update
Property owners who have property impacts for the proposed trail are receiving letters now from the Nebraska Department of Transportation. The letters let people know that their property will likely be impacted and that they will be contacted soon for an appraisal discussion. The letters have a contact from NDOT to call for more information.
- This stage of the trail process, the discussion of appraisals of property, is being managed by the Nebraska Department of Transportation (NDOT).
- This step in the process allows a property owner to meet with an appraiser and discuss any unique issues that need to be considered, like farm equipment access, or well locations, or irrigation implications.
- The trail project remains on track with the state government and the federal government. The current appraisal process by NDOT does not cost the city of York and does not use grant money.
